Ivy Tech Community College is committed to making college affordable and accessible to everyone. That’s why we offer a variety of financial aid options, including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs. We also have a number of payment plan options to make it easier for you to pay for your education.
To get started, simply complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Be sure to include Ivy Tech’s federal school code (001890) on your FAFSA so that your information will be sent to us.
Once you have completed the FAFSA, you will be contacted by our Office of Student Financial Aid with further instructions. You can also contact our office at 1-888-447-4283 or [email protected] if you have any questions about the financial aid process.

How to Enroll
If you’re interested in enrolling at Ivy Tech, there are a few things you need to do:
1. Visit the Ivy Tech website and click on the “admissions” link.
2. Select the type of student you are (first-time, transfer, dual credit, etc.).
3. Choose your campus location.
4. Complete the online application and pay the application fee.
5. Submit your transcripts and any other required documents.
6. Once you’ve been admitted, you can register for classes.
7. Pay your tuition and fees by the deadline to secure your spot in class.
2.1 Review the Admissions Requirements
To be eligible for admission to Ivy Tech, you must:
• Be a high school graduate or have your GED®
• Submit official high school or GED transcripts if you have less than 30 college credit hours
• Submit official transcripts from ALL colleges and universities previously attended if you have 30 or more college credit hours
• Complete the Admission Application and Admissions Interview
2.2 Choose a Program of Study
Now that you know what Ivy Tech has to offer, it’s time to choose a program of study. If you know the academic area or career field in which you want to enroll, great! If not, spend some time exploring our areas of study to learn more about what each program entails.
Once you’ve chosen a program, review the specific requirements for admission to that program. Some programs may require additional application steps or prerequisite coursework. Be sure to review the requirements carefully so you can plan your path to enrollment.
2.3 Complete an Application for Admission
To apply for admission to Ivy Tech, you will need to complete an application form. The form can be found on the Ivy Tech website.
You will need to provide some personal information on the application form, as well as your educational history. Once you have completed the form, you will submit it to the Ivy Tech admissions office.
After You Apply
If you have applied to Ivy Tech and submitted all required documents, you will receive an email within 3-5 business days letting you know that your application has been processed. The email will include your student ID number, which you will need in order to activate your student portal account.
Once you have activated your portal account, you will be able to see your admissions decision and next steps. If you have been admitted to Ivy Tech, congrats! The next step is to attend a New Student Orientation session. At Orientation, you will get help with course registration and take care of any final steps required for enrollment.
3.1 Check Your Application Status
After you submit your application, you can check your application status online. Simply log in to myIvy with your username and password. If you are a new student, your username is your six-digit birthdate (MMDDYY) and your password is your eight-digit birthdate (MMDDYYYY). If you submitted an application prior to Fall 2016, your username and password were emailed to you. Please contact the Admissions Office if you do not have this information.
3.2 Submit Required Documentation
In order to complete your enrollment, you will need to submit all required documentation. Documents can be submitted online via MyIvy, or in person at any Ivy Tech campus or location. Please note that some programs may have additional requirements.
All new students are required to submit the following documentation:
-A completed application for admission
-Official high school transcript or GED scores
-Official college transcripts (if applicable)
-Proof of Indiana residency*
– photo ID
3.3 Receive Your Admission Decision
After your application has been received and processed, you will be notified of your admission status. You can check your application status anytime online through myIvy.
If you are a new student or a returning student who has not attended Ivy Tech within the past year, you will receive an email to your personal email account with specific instructions on how to activate your myIvy account. If you have any trouble activating your account, please contact the Help Desk.
Once you have logged in to myIvy, click on the “Admissions” tile and then select “View Admission Status.” Your admission decision will be posted in this location. If you have any questions about your admission decision, please contact Admissions.
