The knights were sworn to protect pilgrims on their journey to the Holy Land, and they became known for their bravery in battle. In time, the order grew wealthy and powerful, and it came to be seen as a threat by some European rulers. In the 14th century, the order was disbanded by Pope Clement V, and many of its members were persecuted.
The High Priesthood
The High Priesthood is the highest ranking priesthood in the Mormon Church. It is composed of men who have been called and set apart by God to lead His people. The High Priesthood has the authority to perform certain ordinances and lead the Church.
Some of the duties of the High Priesthood include:
– administering the sacrament
– blessing the sick
– giving counsel
– performing baptisms
– ordaining other priesthood holders
– conducting church meetings
– teaching the gospel
The High Priesthood is a sacred and important calling. Those who hold this priesthood are responsible for helping others to come unto Christ and receive His blessings.
The Order of the Holy Sepulchre
The Order of the Holy Sepulchre is one of the most ancient and prestigious orders of chivalry in existence. It was founded in the 11th century to protect pilgrims travelling to the Holy Land, and its members were among the most skilled and experienced warriors of their time. Today, the order still exists, though its focus has shifted to charitable work. Its members are known for their dedication to service, and they continue to make a difference in the world through their charitable work.
The Order of the Garter
The Order of the Garter is one of the most exclusive and prestigious orders in all of England. Founded by King Edward III in 1348, it is comprised of only the most high-ranking members of society. Over the centuries, membership has included everyone from dukes and earls to knights and ladies.
Today, the Order of the Garter is still a very exclusive club. Membership is limited to only 24 people at any given time, including the monarch (who is automatically a member). New members are chosen by the existing members and must be approved by the Queen herself.
So what does it take to be a member of this elite group? Well, there are actually no set criteria. Some members are chosen for their political or military accomplishments, while others are simply friends or relatives of the royal family. What all members have in common, however, is that they must be British citizens and must have held some sort of senior position within society.
If you’re lucky enough to be invited to join the Order of the Garter, you will need to attend a special ceremony at Windsor Castle where you will be knighted by the Queen herself. Once you’re a member, you will be required to wear a special blue sash with white roses on it whenever you attend official events. You will also need to display your coat of arms in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
So there you have it: everything you need to know about England’s most prestigious order!
The Order of the Thistle
The Order of the Thistle is an exclusive order of Scottish chivalry. Founded in 1687 by King James VII, it is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a Scottish person. The order is limited to only 24 members, and those who are inducted must be of noble blood and exemplary character.

Grand General: Chapter 12
This chapter tells us about the grand general’s meeting with King James VII. The king asks him to join the Order of the Thistle, and after some consideration, he agrees to do so. It is clear that he is a man of great loyalty and integrity, two qualities that are essential for membership in this prestigious group.
