Bynum If You Got ‘Em Fest
The Bynum If You Got ‘Em Fest is a community event that celebrates the history and culture of the small town of Bynum, North Carolina. The festival features live music, food trucks, and local vendors selling arts and crafts. The event is held annually on the first Saturday in May.
The origins of the festival date back to the early 1990s, when a group of locals decided to throw a party to celebrate the end of winter. The original fest was called the “Bynum If You Got ‘Em Fest” because it was held on May 1st, which is also known as “May Day.” The name was chosen because many people in Bynum had May Day off from work, so they could come and enjoy the festivities.
Over the years, the festival has grown in popularity and now attracts visitors from all over North Carolina. The event is held at the Haw River Ballroom, which is located in downtown Saxapahaw.
Bynum, NC History
Bynum is a small town located in Alamance County, North Carolina. The town is situated on the Haw River, and was originally founded in 1849 as a mill town. The Bynum Mill was one of the first industries in the area, and the town grew up around it. Today, Bynum is a quaint little community with a population of just over 400 people.
The town has a rich history, and many of its original buildings are still standing. The Bynum General Store is one of the oldest businesses in town, and it has been serving customers since 1849. The store is now owned by fourth-generation family member, Wade Smith.
The Haw River Ballroom is another historic landmark in Bynum. The dance hall was built in 1929, and it served as a popular destination for locals and travelers alike during the 1930s and 1940s. Bynum Mill
