I recently had the opportunity to interview Alexis Ross, a senior engineer at General Dynamics. Here’s what she had to say about her work:
Q: What do you do at General Dynamics?
A: I’m a senior engineer on the team that develops aircraft for the US Air Force. My specific focus is on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program.
Q: What’s your favorite part of your job?
A: I really enjoy working on such a complex and challenging project. The F-35 is an amazing piece of machinery, and it’s been really interesting to see it come together over the past few years. It’s also gratifying to know that my work is helping to protect our country.
Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job?
A: Dealing with all of the different stakeholders involved in developing and fielding the F-35 can be challenging at times. There are a lot of moving parts to this program, so making sure everyone is on the same page can be difficult. But it’s also rewarding when everything comes together and we’re able to deliver a quality product to our customer.
