Ruary: I never felt so alone, so terrified, yet so alive… #SaluteRuary

You might not have known this but the picture above is what the the artist Ruary was wearing before his protest. While he was listed as a model for Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring-Summer 2018 runway show in Milan, the singer and songwriter decided to do some digging about the brand he was walking for before hitting the runway. While walking down the runway during the presentation’s finale, Raury took the opportunity to launch his own protest against  D&G’s $245 “Boycott Dolce & Gabbana” shirts  which made fun of what Raury terms as the peoples freedom of protest. The t-shirt was ultimately used to protest the protest against Trump, which the artist Ruary had no idea prior to taking the booking. Upon learning of the brand’s aim to profit of the peoples voice, Ruary had a plan of his own before leaving the venue.

“The ‘Boycott Dolce & Gabbana’ T-shirt they created completely makes a mockery of what ‘boycotting’ is,” said the LoveRenaissance representative. “Boycotting is the people’s voice. A protest is the people’s voice. It has power. It changes things.”

And then…

During his final walk, he removed the yellow bomber to reveal the words “PROTEST DG,” “GIVE ME FREEDOM,” and “I AM NOT YOUR SCAPEGOAT” written on his body on his chest with the “black power” closed fist, used to signify a protest.

He supposedly found out about Dolce & Gabbana’s connection to the First Lady after arriving in Milan for the show.
